what's Donky?
- Bio:
We started Donky Pitch in the summer of '09, out of a need to bring modern mutations of hip hop & colourful synth-driven, stripped-down bass music to our hometown of Brighton. Gemmy headlined the first party, with Sluga and Rekordah providing ample support. Since then we have be lucky enough to play host to many great producers and DJs including Tokimonsta, Blue Daisy, Debruit, Alex Nut, Randy Barracuda and Mweslee
We made the jump from venues to vinyl in October 2010 with a split 12'' EP from two of our residents, Slugabed and Ghost Mutt. Apart from the label and the parties we also have a monthly radio show, broadcast live every 2nd Thursday, 7-10pm GMT, on Hivemind.fm. We love doing radio.

- Evian Christ - Kings and Them
After attending the awesome Tri-Angle records showcase last night, I am inclined to share their latest signing. They’re giving his first EP away for free on their website, which is quite frankly criminal. Following in a similar vein to the drugged out r’n’b / hip hop / drone vibe that we’ve come to expect from the label, this release really brings another level to the Tri-Angle sound we’re all growing to love.

i’ve blogged about timewharp before, but this new ep for astro nautico (called the blk ep) really sets my nipples on fire. yrlyf and mdat are all killer. that slide guitar. ouch. + + great remixes and, as is the way with this nautico bunch, it’s free.

here’s a few snaps from our vs party (see the lot here) with the bristol family, idle hands. one thing i learnt… them kelly twins sure can dj. coming on after sluga at a donky night is never an easy ask. they flipped it, came with the garage and grime. crowd went wild.
